KIM & PHILIPPE VILLARD
This husband and wife have been collaborating artists since 1986. They travel between studios in France and Maine. Whiteline woodblock prints are the Villard’s signature medium, a uniquely American technique invented in Provincetown, MA. Images are drawn and carved by Philippe, and Kim does the painterly hand-printing, varying the colors each time. They are also producing fine art books that are collaboratively handmade in New England, presenting limited editions of their prints. Their work has been shown extensively in New England, California, Florida and in France, including a 2003 exhibit at the Cote D’Azur international airport in Nice.
