ROBERT MOTHERWELL
Noted American abstract artist Robert
Motherwell spent summers at his home in Provincetown, on Cape Cod.
This original painting was executed in
the early 1960's, part of a series called "Beside the Sea" in which
he was exploring the force of gestural painting in capturing a
dynamic principally observed in the ocean, in his characteristic "Motherwell
blue."
